History

Thoerem formed as a band in 2005 (as “Theorum”) as the result of a GCSE Music exam for original drummer Caitlin Brown.  It was arranged the original group would play Green Day’s “Wake Me Up When September Ends” for the exam; with James Richardson on vocals and Chris McSweeney on guitar. When the group realised the need for a second guitarist, Ben Macrory was recruited to play rhythm guitar for the song.

This original lineup remained until the March of 2007, when Caitlin left the band due to mutual consent. The requirement for a new drummer was met almost instantly when Rob Jones; a friend of lead singer James, stepped into the position. This lineup also proved successful, as Theorem slowly began to draw a primarily school-centered fanbase.

In December of 2007, the need for a full-time bassist was realised, as to this point, Chris and James had taken turns playing bass. Friend of the band, and occasional roadie Rhys Cooke was recruited as a full time bassist. After a successful string of gigs in school and elsewhere throughout 2008 and 2009, the band renamed themselves “Theorem”, and began to recored their own material.  And the rest is all history (xD).
